Bernie Wrightson
Auteur américain né le 27 octobre 1948 à Baltimore (Maryland).Très influencé par des dessinateurs comme Jeff Jones, Frank Frazetta ou Michael Kaluta, Bernie Wrightson débute en 1968 chez DC Comics sur des histoires d'horreur dont il se fera une spécialité.Durant les années 70, il participe à la création de Swamp Thing, scénarisé par Len Wein, tout en travaillant pour les magazines publiés par Warren.On lui doit aussi une série de superbes illustrations en noir et blanc pour le roman Frankenstein de Mary Shelley, publiées en France par Albin Michel en 1984.Le trait de Bernie Wrigthson n'est pas sans rappeler celui de Frank Frazetta, qui l'a beaucoup inspiré, et convient parfaitement au domaine du macabre dont il s'est fait le spécialiste.
